“Addiction is often seen as a mere psychological ailment, but I believe that it is a spiritual journey".
In this week’s Soul Talk episode, I dive deep into understanding the spiritual roots of addiction, exploring how these struggles go far beyond simple habits or willpower. I uncover how addictions—whether to substances, approval, or even achievements—often have roots in deep-seated pain, unmet emotional needs, and unresolved trauma. Instead of viewing addiction solely as a negative force, I challenge us to see it as a misguided attempt at wholeness, an unconscious way to self-soothe and cope when other tools are missing.
This shift in perspective allows us to approach our addictions and struggles with compassion rather than judgment. I discuss how awareness is our first step: by recognizing our triggers, we create space to pause and make new, healthier choices instead of simply reacting. Breaking free from these patterns doesn’t happen overnight, but it starts by understanding the “why” behind the habit.
Listen to this episode and learn some key insights into the journey of healing and self-empowerment.
